No 1A Pocket Kodak Autographic camera

This is a lovely No 1A Pocket Kodak folding camera dating from 1926-1932. This is an autographic version, which took type A116 film and has a portal at the back of the camera in which the photographer could write notes onto the film using a metal stylus. The stylus holder is on the left of the shutter housing. This version is also unusual in having Art Deco style text on the leg.

The camera takes twelve 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch exposures on roll film. The lens is a Kodar achromatic 131mm f/7.9. The Kodex shutter provides speeds of 1/25 and 1/50 sec plus B and T. There is a brilliant finder, adjustable for landscape or portrait orientation. Focusing is by a worm drive.
