Ricohmatic 35 camera

This is a Ricohmatic 35 camera, for 35mm film. This stylish Japanese camera dates from the 1960's and looks like something out of a period science fiction movie. The Russian camera manufacturer KMZ made a near-exact copy of the Ricohmatic 35 and its little brother the Ricoh Auto 35V as the Zorki 10 and 11, respectively. An unusual feature is the film advance lever at the base of the camera (which actually works very well once you get used to it). There is a selenium meter around the lens.

The lens is a 4-element 40mm f/2.8 Ricoh Kominar. The shutter is by Seikosha. It has one shutter speed, around 1/125 sec.
